Korean Music - Buying Imported Music Gear in Korea

Tuesday

USAkki.com

Living in South Korea definitely has its perks, like having access to all these nice little Korean guitars. Nakwon Arcade is nice and carries a lot of musical equipment but it doesn't have everything, especially for stuff from abroad. A few month back I was looking to buy the Fender Blues Junior Tweed NOS but no luck, all they had was the regular version of the Blues Junior.

So...wouldn't it be nice to be able to get all the goodies from big American stores like Musician's Friend or ZZounds right on your doorstep here in Korea? As you know, these stores do not ship abroad. No worries, thanks to USAkki.com it's now possible! USAkki, operated by Sungwon, takes care of the hassle for you. Once you've decided on the product of your choice, you will receive a quote with the total price for your item. If you're happy with it, pay and wait for your product, it's that simple. Head on over to USAkki.com for more info.

Koren Music - Cherry Filter

Monday

cherry filter

Cherry Filter is a famous rock act in Korea. The group started as a three man line up in 1997 with Son Senhyon, Yon Yungun and Chon Ujin. While they were doing pretty well for themselves, the group really took off with the addition of Cho Yujin as lead singer in 1999. The music of Cheery Filter is quite diverse, from hard rock to ballads and even some R&B thrown in between.

The group released four albums (Head-Up, Made in Korea, The Third Eye, Peace and Rock 'N 'Roll) as well as a remake album. Here is the track Flying Duck from the album The Third Eye.
