Korean Guitars - Guitarplayer.com reviews the Swing Classic X

Saturday

Swing Classic X
Those in the market for a Gibson LesPaul copy might want to visit guitarplayer.com to read the review of the Swing Classic X. Here are a few choice exerpts:

[...]outwardly, the Classic X’s construction is closer to custom-shop levels than to the build quality of in-expensive Korean guitars of the past.

From a purely fingers-to-strings aspect, the Classic X is almost too fun to play. The slim neck, medium-low action, and light strings encourage fast note flurries. It’s also a blast to propel churning and funky chordal workouts with near wild abandon, or spew riffs up and down the fretboard.

If Swing is all hopped up about promoting the excellence of current Korean guitar craftsmanship, the company can relax.[...]Like the BST, the Classic X is definitely a professional-quality instrument that can hang with the big boys.

Korean Guitars - My Gear

Monday

I am the proud owner of a Dame Saint T300. It has a alder body and a maple fretboard and a beautiful sunburst finish. It has a Seymour Duncan JB humbucker in the bridge position and two Garry Snyder KVP1 single coils. It comes complete with Grover tuners and a Wilkinson WV2 bridge.

This guitar represents superb value for money, it plays and sounds great. I love it to bits.

My amp is a Rockers T15R tube amp. This amp is cheap and sounds great! Excellent value for money. Rockers is a Korean company, the T15R is basically a copy of the Laney LC15 tube amp.

Korean Guitars - Moollon, Beautiful Handcrafted Korean guitars

Sunday

Moollon Guitars
South Korea is not all about mass produced cheap guitars. Moollon is a company that produces some of the most beautiful guitars I've seen. Very very nice stuff indeed. Being a stratocaster fan I particularly like the Manas model with its beautiful "raw" (read unpainted) finish.

Moollon produces guitars, basses, pickups and effects and are regularly present at the NAMM show. You can check their offerings at: moollon.com

Korean Guitars - Pachelbel's Canon on a Dame Exceed 250

Allright, here is the oh so famous and overplayed Canon by Pachelbel. For some reason, this tune his hugely popular in Korea. Not my cup of tea, but there's no denying that "Jane" here does a great rendition of it. Enjoy.
